Island Overlook cabins are at the heart of the outdoor adventure paradise better known as McCurtain County Oklahoma! We are famous for our clear mountain rivers and streams, deep, cold lake and literally hundreds of thousands of acres of National Forest and Wildlife Management Areas.
World Class Fly Fishing
The fishing is outstanding in McCurtain County starting
with the world class trout habitat of the Mountain Fork River. Running
downstream in the Broken Bow Lake tailwaters the lower Mountain Fork River
offers year round rainbow and brown trout in 14 miles of habitat with
a 3.8 mile catch and release trophy stretch where all boats are banned.
Island Overlook cabins are just downstream from all of this!
Award Winning Bass Fishery
Bass fisherman will love this area too.
FLW Outdoors Magazine recently named Broken Bow Lake as one of
the top bass fisheries in the nation!
Broken Bow lake offers over 14,000 acres of crystal clear water that reaches
over 140 feet deep in some areas. Complete boat rentals are available.

Whitewater Fun
The Mountain Fork is also a favorite destination for white water canoes. Most of the river is gentle enough for the average canoeist with just enough excitement to keep everyone enjoying the fun!
Other McCurtain County rivers, especially the wild and scenic upper Glover River, offer expert only whitewater adventure in season. Canoe outfitters and guides are available.

ATV/4WD Adventure
Looking for a place to ride your ATV? We've got thousands of acres surrounding the Island Overlook cabins and even more riding opportunities abound nearby in the Ouachita National Forest and Three Rivers Wildlife Management Area.
You can literally jump on your 4 wheeler outside your cabin and ride all day!
